SEMINAR REPORT
Department of Business Administration has organized Seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights in India” on 1st February 2023, by Department of Business Administration for the I BBA, II BBA and III BBA students at Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science, Chennai.
The major goal of this seminar was to bring basic knowledge about Intellectual Property Rights and this has created awareness about the importance of patent, Copy Rights and Trade Mark for their innovations.
A total of 202 students from Department of Business Administration (Shift I) has been participated for this Seminar - Intellectual Property Rights in India. Welcome address was done by Nithish of III BBA, guest introduction was done by Yuvinraj of III BBA and Guest honor was done by Vice Principal, Dr.G.Gayathry. On the Seminar, Dr.V.Sivakamy, Assistant Professor, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram has been participated as Resource Person. He has 14 years of experience in pivotal roles – teaching, managerial & teaching and 5 years of research experience. Through this seminar, students have enriched knowledge with Intellectual Property, Intellectual Property Rights, Copyrights, Patents, Trademarks and Industrial Design. With various live examples Dr.V.Sivakamy, resource person has made the session very much interactive and that encouraged the participants to be engaged. This session has made the students to develop their innovations and also learned how to register patent and to get copyrights for their innovations. Vote of thanks was done by Benedict of I BBA.The entire programme was co-ordinated by Ms.P.Gabriyala Gladys with the support of the Principal, Vice-Principal, Head of the Department and faculty members of Department of Business Administration (Shift – 1).

SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMREPORT
Department of Business Administration (Shift 1) organized a two - day Skill Development Program titled “Yoga is a Mirror” for the students of BBA department on 1st and 2nd February 2023 between 10 AM to 11 AM in Mar Ivanios Hall, Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science. Mr.Magnell Marshall, Old Folk, Arts Trainer Environment Activistspecialized in Yoga, Boxing and Self defence trained the students promoting wellness through yoga.
The program began with a Prayer Song and Welcome address was rendered by M. Hashim Khan. Pavithra of II BBAintroduced the resource person. Honorable Principal Dr. M Sivarajan inaugurated the session and honored the guest of honor. The main objective of this program is to create awareness about the fundamentals of yoga for wellness of the students in their daily lives. Theprogram bought in peace and harmony among the students. Students practiced various Yogic Postures like Shatkarmas, Suryamaskar, Asanas, Breathing Practices and Pranayama. A total of 200 students participated in this program and expressed positive feedback.

The Department of Business Administration (Shift – 1), Mar Gregorios College Of Arts & Science organized a guest lecture on the topic “Marketing Information System” for 2nd year BBA students on 12th January 2023.The goal of the session is to give immense knowledge about Marketing information system.
The program started with prayer song “God will make a way” by 2nd year choir team. The program’s Master of Ceremony was done by Mr. Al Ameen(2nd BBA),who lead the program with his thoughtful and creative content. The Welcome Address was given by Ms. A.K. Suba(2nd BBA). The Guest lecturer for this event was Mrs. Anita Anbu. She is a BE graduate specialized in Computer Science & Engineering and holds a MBA degree from Haas school of Business, University of California. She is currently working as a Product and Technology Leader and Senior Director in Oracle, California. She was honored with small token of love by Department HOD Prof. R. Leonard Solomon.
The core goal of this lecture is to give a brief thought about marketing information system. This session was interactive with students and made the students to enrich with knowledge of Marketing, essentials involved in implementing marketing information system and challenges in implementing marketing information system. It was very informative session for students.71 students of 2nd years have attended the guest lecture. Dr.Babita Prem was the faculty Coordinator for conducting this guest lecture. The student coordinator of this lecture was Ms. E.Angel(2nd BBA).The session ended with Vote of thanks given by R.Prithika(2nd BBA).

An Intercollegiate Workshop on “ Sustainable Living” was organized for the first time in our college permises.
The Program Started with a Prayer Song followed by Thamizhl Thai Vazhthu and College Anthem. The Welcome Address was given by Mr. Gangadharan of II BBA followed by lighting of Kuthuvilaku as per Tamil tradition. Mr. M. Sivarajan, Principal of Mar Gregorios College gave the inaugural address. Mr. R. Leonard Solomon, Head of the Department gave the department report. Mr. R. Rajagopal, SI , Labour Department gave the Chief guest address, followed by the events. “Mind Mapping” and “Business Quiz” Short listing round took place off stage in class room no.T9. “Collage” and “Logo Designing” took place in Room No. T10. “Adzap”, “Paper presentation” and “VidAdd” followed by final round “Business Quiz” and “Mind mapping” took place on the Auditorium Stage. At the end of the program Rev. Fr. Santhosh Thomas, Secretary of the College blessed the students and Principal gave away the prizes for the prize winners of the various competitions. Approximately 65 students from various department and 16 students from BBA participated in the events. The Judges where Shift -2 Faculty members Mrs. Subashini, Mr. Nixon, Mrs. Christina, Ms. Chithra, Mrs. Prasanna and Ms.Subiksha. The Program ended with National Anthem and Photo session. The Loving Grace of the Lord was there throughout the Program.
On 14th September 2018 the Department Event was held. The Chief Guests were Dr. Paul Prathap Jayaraj, Head of Learning and Development in Sheen Lac Paints and Mr. C.S. Amuthan, Director, Screen writer, Lyricist of Tamil Padam 1 & 2. 200 Students from 21 Colleges participated and Hindu College won the Overall Championship.

Recent Trends in Financial Markets
Department of Business Administration (Shift -I), Mar Gregorios College of Arts &Science organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Recent Trends in Financial Markets” for the BBA Students on 10th January 2022 through online mode. The motive behind this session was to enlighten the students on financial sourcing.
This program started with the prayer song and the Guest Speaker for this event was Mr. Pugazendhi Sundareshwaran, Senior Vice President at Institutional Banking, Yes Banks Ltd. The aim of this Guest Lecture is to equip the students with the concept of recent trends in financial markets. Welcome address was given by Sumedh of III BBA. The session was live and enriched the students with the knowledge of financial markets that integrate corporate bonds and commercial loan markets.

It was very interactive and informative for the students. The Guest Speaker for the session was Dr.N.Sarulatha, Assistant Professor, DG Vaishnav College.
The aim of the Guest Lecture series is to equip the student with the concept of Digital Marketing. This series aims to create knowledge of updated and new tools of Digital Marketing that was discussed and that helped the students to enrich the student’s community.

A One day National Seminar on ‘LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE AND ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT’ was conducted by the department on 25 September 2019. Keynote speaker was Dr.S.Rajasingh, Assistant Director and Director in charge, MCC Boyd Business School. Guest speakers were Mr.Gnanaraj Augustin Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Bangalore and Mr. Narendran, Entrepreneur, Chennai.

A Guest Lecture on Preparation for VIVA VOCE examination was held on 28 January 2020. The Resource Person was Dr.I.M.Christina Febiula, Assistant Professor, and Department of Business Administration, Shift 2.
A Guest lecture on Modern Business Communication was held on 27 February 2020. The Resource Person was Ms. W. Sharmila, Assistant Professor, Dept of Computer Science, Shift 1.
Project Colloquium
‘Biz Wiz 2k20’ organized the ‘Project Colloquium’ for the first time which was held on 3rd March 2020. The Chief Guest was Dr.Gayathri, Educationalist, and Founder of GayatriGyans.
On 14th August 2018, Ms. Ruth Felicita F, Assistant Professor conducted a programme to initiate the students, especially the freshers. Being an alumnus of MGC she was able to inspire the students.
Mr. Mohammed Arshad Ahamed M, alumnus of MGC spoke on Entrepreneurial Development And Basics of Auditing on 16th August 2018.
On 21st August 2018 Dr.C.Magendiran, Asst. Professor MGC, elaborated on his research experience, data collection tools, topic identification and methodology using Tamil Tradition.
On 24th August 2018 Ms. Sharmila, Relationship Manager, Sriyah Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd., gave a talk on the Process And Problems of Entrepreneurship. She used Team Activities to make the session memorable.
On 24th August 2018 Dr. Iyyapan, Asst. Professor MGC, spoke on the uses of education, the purpose of life, serving society and developments in society.
