On September 17, 2021 we conducted a offline program with our staff Mr.Akshay Sidharth an film maker, We started our program at 11:00am, Our department staffs and students are joined our program. Prayer song done by Priscilla from 3rdyear, Welcome address given by hari Priya 2ndyear.Our beloved Head of the Department Rev.Br.John Thomas honored chief guest, our chief guest screened his short film which named as “Damnation”. After that short film he interacted with students and he shared his experience about this shortfilm.Finallymiss.sabreen from 3rd year proposed the vote of thanks and the day ended up well with the national anthem.
On May 31 2020 we conducted online program in the topic Arts of interactive session with ken karunas our Guest for the day . We started our program at 7 PM. All department staff Members and students were joined in the program and more than 150 students benefited out of it . our beloved principal gave felicitation and honored guest by his word of appreciation . His works and video was played by our students in online he shared his experience and gave tips to the students and throw lights about film industry, finally Mr. Dev from III year proposed the vote of thanks and the program ended up well with the national anthem
On August 28 2019The program started with a prayer song by our department choir members followed by welcome address by our student Dev Shekhar II year viscom. We honoured our Secretary Father, Principal, Vice Principal and Sr. Celine with shawl, bouquet and mementos. Our honorable Secretary Rev. Fr. Philip Pulipra Blessed the gathering with his Blessings. Our Beloved Principal Dr. Sivarajan shared his views and gave some tips for the smooth conduct of Impulse 2.0. Prof. Ann gave her special felicitation on Impulse 2.0. Our HIC proposed his views and welcomed the other college students for Impulse 2.0.More than 950 students Participated our program and got benefited out of it .we provided E-certificates to the participants. Finally Mr.Vittal from II year proposed the vote of thanks and the Program ended up well with National Anthem.
Department festival has planned in order to create media awareness and to energies the interest among student, As the department of visual communication student communication , Explore , Fascinate and Innovate .We have also planned to invite alumini of visual communication department. The event schedule starts from AUGUST 27th and AUGUST 28 .During these 2 days lot of events has been planned to exhibit the talents.
CREATIVITY FOR CAREER

Our beloved principal honored chief guest, we welcomed him by appreciating their works and talent, Rev.Fr.Antony shared their experience that how creativity is important to our life. Finally Mr.NaveenKalki from 3rd year proposed the vote of thanks and the day ended up well with the national anthem.

WORKSHOP ON ACTING ‘Action in Acting’
we conducted a program “ Acting on Workshop” inaugurated by Miss. Malini Jeevarathinam, Social Activist , a Film Maker, shared her very own experience to the students. Our Resource Person, Mr Niranjan stood up and talked about acting experience in “Koothupattarai” and film making experience. He shared about the basics in acting and in vocals. He also taught 30 different types of walks and style to the students. The students started the day with meditation and Nelia to carry out a peaceful mind throughout the session. He also taught about the nine navarasas emotions and made each person to perform a monocot. The students came up with their own stories and script for skit. He also, made students dance for some energetic beats and the day ended well with full of energy and laughter. Our department staffs and our HOD looked after the skit rehearsal performed by the teams. We honoured our chief guest Mr. Nandhu, for our validictry.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
On 23-09-2021 Evening, the students went to the ground to gain some skill development like Jogging and some yoga exercises mentored by our college PT sir Mr.ChristopherNalarasan. Our students got benefited out of it and he also said to our Students that they can come anytime to ground and they can play different games and practice themselves to make them physically fit.
WORKSHOP ON PHOTOGRAPHY IN VIEW OF WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY
On August 19 2021 we conducted Film making program with Prof.S.Lawrence Jeyakumar and Rev.FR.Shaibu M we went to visit the institution of DeSIFMA. They started program at 9Am, welcome address given by Jagennathan 2rd yr.we welcomed him by appreciating their works, our students joined this program and this workshop has taken 1 day and benefited out of it. He shared his experience in his film industry, Finally Prof.Kalaiyarasi from Viscom department proposed the vote of thanks and the day ended up well with the national anthem at 4 Pm.
VISTRONICS International Conference, Role of Communication
The topic ROLE OF COMMUNICATION IN MEDIA , was the main objective of VISTRONICS. Our chief guest Mr. R. Yogesh Rajan spotlighted about virtual updation. The Role of Communication in newspaper, evolution of camera and about film types and technologies employed. The electronics students paper presented about the assigned topics. On the next day the Visual Communication students paper presented along with professors for the topics.
NOSHRAM
Introduction session with Rev.Dr Rajanayagam about nature and love towards nature. Then he shared about the provisional in scripting of film making. Fr. Vennis and Advocate Parthiban, scheduled the sessions with students. Teachings in music, the creative way in scripting techniques. The students were taught about the 24 crafts in every film. By the interaction session with producer R.D. Raja. The next day, Mr. Joe Malluri, shared his experience in all this years. He also added about his work experience with the music director Mr. Illaiyaraja. The next session was scheduled with Mrs. Shafana Praveen, shared about data mining, monophobia, and phantom vibration. The valedictory was organized by the students divided in teams. The students were then departed to kodaikanal for relaxation and great experience.

It is a moment of pride and privilege for MGC to have the Professionals and Students from DON BOSCO INTUITION ENTERTAINERS MEDIA, Paris,France. Eight Students and Two Professors, Selasians, Rev.Fr.John Paul Swaminathan were welcomed by the Students of the Department of Visual Communication, NSS Volunteers, Secretary, Principal and Staff.
An MOU was signed between DBIEM and MGC for a ONE MONTH TWO WEEKS COURSE in France for the Visual Communication Students.

The Department Inaugurated the Fresher’s Day on 26.06.2019. The Chief Guests were Mr.Thadibalaji (comedian), Mr. Niranjan (actor & mimicry artist), Mr. Nandha Kumar (Cinematographer).
The Department also inaugurated an Inter Collegiate event IMPULSE 2.0 on (28/08/2019). A Discussion ABOUT SHORT FILM & DOCUMENTARY on 20.07.2019 was held. The CHIEF GUEST was Rev. Fr. John Paul.
PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB was inaugurated on 12/07/2019. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. JEFFREY JOSHUA (fashion & wedding photographer)
SHORT FILM DISCUSSION was held on 09/07/2019. The CHIEF GUEST was Mr.Tamilvannan (actor, director, screenplay writer and cinematographer).
A WORKSHOP ON ADVERTISEMENT, CINEMATOGRAPHY & DOP was held on25/07/2019. The Chief Guests were Mr. Iniyavan (Ad Film Director), Mr. Shankar Sathyamoorthy (Still Photographer) and Mr. Ganesh Chandra (Cinematographer).
A WORKSHOP ON BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY was held on 23 and 24/01/2020. The Chief Guests were Mr. RaghavVekatraman&Team (Commercial Photographers), Mr. Hari (Photographer) & Mr. Arul Anand (Fashion Photographer).
A WORKSHOP ON WEB DEVELOPMENT, WEB PUBLISHING & DIGITAL MARKETING was held on 13/09/2019, The CHIEF GUESTS were Rev. Dr.S. Santiago, S.J. - Vice Principal of St.Joseph’s College Trichy. Dr. Siluvai Raj - Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA).
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS VISIT TO MGC FAMILY was held on16/08/2019.
On 28th August 2018, Impulse 2k18 bore the theme of 'Films'. Mr. Lokesh (Film Director), Mr. Kaasi Raman (Assistant Professor of English Department, M.G.C.), Mr. Arun (Media Celebrity) and Mr. Aravind (Media Celebrity) were judges of the events. The on-stage events included Variety Talent, Dance and Mime. Off stage events like Photography and debate were also conducted. The event saw the participation of various colleges like Sriram College of Engineering, SRM Arts College, AVC College, Gurunanak College of Arts & Science and Madras Christian College. The overall championship was bagged by Gurunanak College. Dr. Prakasham, Director, was the Chief Guest and Ms. Jeeva (a) Sneha, a transgender was also a guest at the event. She spoke to the students about her life experiences.
An Outdoor Photography Shoot was arranged for the second year students at RAW STUDIOZ, Vadapalani on 4th February 2019. The session also involved teachings on Indoor Lighting.
Workshop was inaugurated by Secretary Father, Principal and Vice Principal, accompanied by the head and the dept staffs.
