The Department of Computer Science, Shift – II in association with IQAC organized a Guest Lecture on “Secured routing in Ad-hoc network” on 24-08-2023 from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Dr. V.Divya, Assistant Professor working in VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Pallavaram, Chennai. The resourse person Dr.V.Divya explained various concepts related to ad- hoc networks to our students.Our Principal Dr.R.Srikanth gave the inaugural address, IQAC Co-ordinator Prof S.Shantha ,Vice Principal of Shift - I Dr.G.Gayathry and Vice Principal of Shift - II Dr.S.Shalini Maher felicitated the resource person with a shawl.97 students have participated and gained knowledge about wireless networks and routing algorithms. The session was very informative and resourceful.

Let us congratulate and appreciate the Head Ms.R.Anitha and convenor Ms.T.Sarah Jeba Jency & the staff members for organizing the program successfully. The resource person Mr.Abraham Kingslin gave our students technical expertise on CRM,ERP and supply chain management. Students were provided with various ideas related to ZOHO job opportunities. The Department of Computer Science, Shift – II in association with IQAC   organized a Workshop on “BECOME A ZOHO CONSULTANT” in Mar Ivanios Hall on 01-02-2023 between 2.00 pm and 3.30 pm. Mr. Abraham Kingslin, Managing Director , Linz Technologies ZOHO Premium Partnerlogy, Chennai. He has 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain, he is a certified Supply Chain Consultant who has delivered 500+ projects, and he is a manufacturing expert. He shared his technical expertise about CRP,ERP,Supply chain management. Students were interested and motivated in becoming a ZOHO consultant.Around 170 students were benefitted by attending this workshop.

Principal MGC

The Department of Computer Science Shift II innovatively carried out event named “Leader in Me” on 05/03/2021. The motto behind the event was to bring the leadership quality in every individual. The students expressed their leadership efficiency in various means. They came up with unique ideas that good leader should possess. 20 students participated and expressed their opinion about being good leader. They also shared their expectation towards the changes they wish to see in college premises.

The Department of Computer Science Shift II with immense pleasure conducted the virtual fresher’s orientation program for 2020 Batch Students on 27/07/2020. Around 22 students attended the orientation. Some parents accompanied their wards for the orientation. The orientation took place in Google Meet Platform. All the faculty from the department were present in the orientation program. The head of the department gave the Motivation speech. The students self-introduced themselves in the orientation. Rules and Regulations of various discipline like Attendance percentage, CIA Marks, Model Exam, Lab etc. were made clear to them. The Opportunities available for Scholarships, Sports, Placement, Cultural, were brought to the knowledge of the students. The Access for Bus-pass were made clear to the students. Parents were very delighted for their wards having entered into MGC family.

With the blessings of  Almighty, the Department of Computer Science has organized the Cortana-19’ , the intercollegiate technical symposium on 21-8-2019 at Mar Ivanios Hall from 9.00 AM – 3.00 PM.

               Mrs Indhumathy Umesh,MBA, Managing Director of Vision Academy presided as the chief guests and also enriched the students by her thought provoking speech.  Dr. M. Sivarajan, Principal, inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the kuthuvilaku. Mrs. S. Karthika, Head, welcomed the gathering.  The students from various colleges like Loyolla, D.G Vaishnav, Shri Krishnaswamy, Bhakthavatsalam, Apollo Arts & Science, etc.. have participated in  Paper presentation, Computer Quiz, LOGO Teaser, Mute N Act and I-connect.

Department of Computer Science – Shift II had organized a Seminar on DEV-OPS  and  Python  for I,II and II yr students on 05-02-2019. Professor Mr. Saravan.P , Microsoft, Sun and Oracle Certified Software Trainer from NIIT, Ambattur  delivered  his lecture and  motivated our students to transform themselves as Software Professionals.

Department of Computer Science, Shift II ,  ambitious to produce the quality citizens had a connect and care with the environment by planting the saplings on 15-August 2018. III B.Sc students , each one has planted sapling in a row and took a pledge to do the same on every  Independence  Day.

The Department of Computer Science has organized the Cortana-19’, the intercollegiate technical symposium on 21-8-2019. Mrs.Indhumathy Umesh, MBA, Managing Director of Vision Academy presided as the chief guests and also enriched the students by her thought provoking speech. The students from various colleges like Loyola, D.G Vaishnav, ShriKrishnaswamy,Bhakthavatsalam, Apollo Arts & Science, etc. have participated in Paper presentation, Computer Quiz, LOGO Teaser, Mute N Act and I-connect.Loyollacollege of Arts and Science has won the overall championship. 

On 5th February 2019, a Seminar on DEV-OPS was organised. Professor Mr. Saravan.P, Microsoft, Sun and Oracle Certified Software Trainer from NIIT, Ambattur delivered his lecture and motivated our students to transform themselves as Software Professionals.

A Personality Development Program titled “ Campus to Corporate” on acquiring skills to prepare themselves for their career was delivered by Dr.Rajkumar, Director of Verbit Technologies, a Corporate trainer. Students thoroughly enjoyed the interactive, informative, fun filled but thought provoking session.

On 15th August 2018, the Final year students planted the saplings and took a pledge, based on the theme "an ambitious to produce the quality citizens had a connect and care with the environment".

Department of computer science – Shift II had organized Power seminar on “Cyber Security” in collaboration with ICT Academy on 27^th Feb 2021 for Students of MGC both shift I and II. More than 180 students participated in the seminar. Participants were from various departments from shift I and shift II. Mr.S.Saisathish, Founder and CEO of Indian servers was the resource person for the seminar.
