REPORT
The Department of Library and Information Science in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a visit to Chennai book fair 2023 conducted in YMCA Nandhanam on 20th January 2023. The highest (Top 30) book borrowers were chosen as participants. Thebook fair visit aimed to encourage and motivate the reading habit, and also the visit would encourage other students to utilize the library resources.
The book fair visit began with the blessing from the Secretary, Principal’s encouragement, hearty wishes from the Vice Principals of both shifts and with the guidance of the IQAC coordinator . Mr. ArunprasathGanesan, Librarian, accompanied the 30 students to the book fair between 9.00 a.m. to 3.00p.m.The book fairwas organized by Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI)comprising of 600 book stalls on varied subjects. Students visited the bookstalls and actively wentthrough the prodigious collections to buy books of their interest. It was a great opportunity to witness varied collection of books in one place. Many book lovers and academicians visited the book fair.
The students shared their experience of the visit to the Student Counselor Rev. Sr. Celin Maria DM, and Vice Principals.
The book fair visitwas organized by Mr. G Arunprasath and Mrs. K Philominawith the support of the Secretary, Principal, Vice principals of both Shift I & II, IQAC coordinator and faculties of Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science.
