The department function CYBER 2K23 was conducted on 09.03.2023 at 10.00 A.M, in Mar Ivanios Hall.Our department staff&students gavea warm welcome to the Chief guest Dr. K. Satyanarayana, Professor – Department of Computer science, Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Maduravoyal, Chennai.The function started with thePRAYER SONG and followed by TamizhThai Vazhtu. The Kuthuvilaku was lit by the dignitaries.
The function was blessed by our Principal Dr. M. Sivarajan.Prof. S. Anithadelivered the welcome address and the introducedto the Chief Guest.The Chief Guest was felicitated witha Shawl, Fruit Basket &Momento.
The chief guest delivered a wonderful speechspecifically about the recent thought process on technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI), R-Programming etc.,for the significant future in computer application.The chief-Guest speech was well received by our students.For CYBER 2K23, we organized an inter-collegiate Competition, for which54participants from 10 colleges participated.

Students actively participated and won the prizes.The overall championship was bagged by DRBCCC Hindu College.The CYBER 2K23 was successfully completed with our NATIONAL ANTHEM.

REPORT
Department of Computer Applications (Shift II) in association with IQAC organized a seminar in “Multidisciplinary Knowledge Engineering” on 16th September 2022 at 2pm in KCGSJ Memorial Hall.It was conducted for the BCA (I, II& III) students.
Dr. R.ThirumalaiSelvi, Assistant Professor,PG & Research Department of Computer Science, Government Arts College for Men (Autonomous) ,Nandanamwas the Resource Person for the event.The inaugural function started with the prayer song. S.Selvakumar,(II BCA) welcomed the Chief Guestand the Dignitaries.
The Resource Person focused on key concepts on Artificial Intelligence; and its role in digital system, capabilities as well as current limitations of AI. Basic algorithms that are used in AI were taught during the session.
The Speaker also highlighted the concept of Data Mining - its techniques and classification Algorithms. Machine learning tools and techniques along with Deep Learning basic concepts and the need for Deep Learning werealso clearly explained to the students. Finally she explained Neural Networks and how they mimic the brain.
The students showed keen interest in the seminar and gained a hands-on experience in the topics of Artificial Intelligence. Overall 100 students and 05 faculty members participated from the department. This seminar was a good learning experience for the participants. They had the opportunity to familiarize themselves to AI whilst also having the opportunity to interact with the best resource person.
The program ended successfully with the valedictory function.
